Three people: two males and one female are facing weapons charges as a result of an incident on Saturday, April 20, 2019. At approximately 11:40 p.m., police performed a traffic stop on a vehicle on University Park Drive and the vehicle pulled over. Police approached the vehicle and the three occupants identified themselves, a 21 year-old female driver, and two males aged 24 and 22. The passengers were found to be in breach of a condition not to be in contact with one another, and one of the males was in breach of his curfew condition.
The males were removed from the vehicle and arrested. A search revealed a firearm, bear spray, machetes, knives, and ammunition.
Twenty-four year-old Glen Michael LENNIE, 22 year-old Matthew FAVEL, and 21 year-old Eleena Anne WELZ, all of Regina, are jointly charged with:
- Possession of a weapon [CC 88];
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon [CC 91(2)].
LENNIE is also charged with fail to comply with undertaking [CC 145(3)].
FAVEL is also
charged with:
- Fail to comply with undertaking [CC 145(3)]; and
- Fail to comply with probation order [CC 733.1(1)].
The
three made their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on
Monday, April 22, 2019 at 9:30 a.m.
