A 19 year-old male is facing a charge of Attempt Murder in connection with an incident that occurred on the 300 block of Rae Street on April 10, 2019. That same individual is also facing charges as the result of an investigation into an attempted assault with a weapon on April 11, 2019.
This investigation began on Wednesday April 10, 2019, at about 1:52 p.m., when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Rae Street for a report of an injured male. Police arrived at the scene and located the victim, a 48 year-old man. The victim sustained injuries consistent with stab wounds. EMS transported the victim to hospital, with injuries described as serious. Police secured the scene and continued their investigation into this event. There was no one else located at the house, but police were able to identify a viable suspect and concentrated their efforts on locating this person.
On April 11th, at approximately 6:25 a.m., police were dispatched to the 600 block of East 4th Avenue for a report of a male who had attempted to stab another male: a 56 year-old man. The suspect fled the scene but he was located by police near Ross Avenue and Park Street. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. This suspect was identified as the same individual being sought in connection with the attempt murder on Rae Street the day before. The male was subsequently charged in connection with both incidents.
Nineteen year-old Jayshree Isiah Joel APOOCH, of Regina, is charged with Attempted Murder [239 CC]; Assault with a Weapon [267(a) CC]; and Possession of a Weapon for a Purpose Dangerous to Public Peace [88 CC]. APOOCH will make his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Friday, April 12, 2019, at 9:30 a.m.
