On July 30, 2019, at approximately 10:25 a.m., Regina Police Service members were dispatched to the 1400 block of Albert Street for the report of a hit and run. Information received was that a vehicle bumped into a cyclist, then drove over her bike as it left the scene. Police arrived on scene and found a 60 year-old female with minor injuries, who was treated by EMS.
At 2:35 p.m., police observed a stolen vehicle on Saskatchewan Drive and Hamilton Street, with three occupants, a male driver and two female passengers. The 27 year-old male was arrested for possession of the stolen vehicle. Investigation determined that the vehicle and driver were involved in the hit and run incident.
Twenty-seven year-old Cody Henry LOUIE WHITEMAN, of Regina, is charged with:
- Failure to stop after accident [CT 320.16(1)]’;
- Mischief under $5,000 [CC 430(4)]; and
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 [CC 355(A)].
WHITEMAN makes his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court, today, July 31, 2019, at 9:30 a.m.
