On Saturday, August 3, 2019, at approximately 2:40 a.m., police were dispatched to the 100 block of Centennial Street for the report of a weapons offence and mischief. Police arrived and met with the victim, a 20 year-old male, who pointed out what appeared to be damage via forced entry to a vehicle. He had found suspects inside the vehicle. He attempted to hold onto one as they fled, but was struck by a heavy object and released the subject. The suspects fled the scene.
Police located and arrested a 22 year-old male and a 16 year-old male exiting a stolen vehicle on the 1700 block of Montreal Street. Investigation determined they were involved in the earlier incident.
Twenty-two year-old Dalton John Layne HESKA-LUPANO, of Regina, is charged with:
- Mischief under $5,000 [CC 430(4)];
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 [CC 355(A)]; and
- Fail to comply [CC 145(3)].
A sixteen year-old, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:
- Mischief under $5,000 [CC 430(4)];
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 [CC 355(A)]; and
- Fail to comply [YCJA 137].
The youth made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Youth Court today, August 6, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. HESKA-LUBANO will first appear on these charges in Provincial Court on September 12, 2019.
