The Regina Police Service is investigating a collision that occurred this morning on the Ring Road (Number 1 Bypass) at approximately 8:30 a.m. There were three vehicles involved: a school bus and two cars, but there were no injuries reported.
Police were dispatched at 8:32 a.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, to the south-west bound lanes of the Ring Road, between Assiniboine Avenue and Wascana Parkway. There is a construction zone in the area. The early reports indicated a school bus was in collision with two other vehicles, all in the south-west bound lanes. The bus had eleven passengers: all elementary school-age children. EMS was also dispatched, but there were no injuries to the occupants of the bus or cars. Police indicate the road was icy in that area, but it is not known at this time if this was a major contributing factor. A second school bus was sent to load and transport the students.
Traffic in the area is already speed-restricted due to the construction zone. Motorists are asked to pay extra attention as the traffic flow may be a little slower than usual through this area until mid-morning. The collision is still under investigation. It is not known at this time if any charges will result from the investigation.
