A 27 year-old male from the Punnichy district is facing a charge of Second-Degree Murder in connection with Regina’s fourth homicide death in 2019. The victim is 30 year-old Denny Troy JIMMY, of Regina.
This investigation began the evening of June 11, 2019, with the report of a single-vehicle collision in the area of 5th Avenue and Lindsay Street. Upon arrival, police discovered a deceased adult male in the vehicle. The comprehensive investigation that followed was led by the RPS Major Crimes unit, working in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service, and assisted by various other units of the Regina Police Service. The investigation led to the arrest, on October 16, 2019, of a 27 year-old male, from a closed-custody facility in Saskatoon. The male has been charged in connection with the homicide of Denny JIMMY. The family of Mr. JIMMY has been notified of this development in the case.
Twenty-seven year-old Adam TANISKISHAYINEW, of Punnichy, SK, is charged with:
- Second Degree Murder [235(1) CC];
- Possession of a Prohibited Firearm contrary to order [117.01(1) CC]; and
- Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC].
TANISKISHAYINEW made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2019.
