The Regina Police Service is investigating an armed robbery that occurred yesterday evening.
At approximately 8:50 p.m., on Monday, October 14, 2019, police were dispatched to the 3800 Block of Dewdney Avenue for a report of an armed robbery. Police attended and spoke to the 15 year-old female victim. It was learned that the victim was directed by a male (known to her) to go to a residence in the 1400 Block of Queen Street. When the victim entered the residence, a 19 year-old female suspect pointed a gun at the victim and demanded her personal belongings. An 11 year-old male suspect was also present and threatened the victim with a machete he had in his possession.
Police attended to the occurrence address in the 1400 Block of Queen Street, saw the female suspect fleeing on foot, but were unable to apprehend her. The two male suspects were taken into custody without incident. Property belonging to the victim was recovered inside the residence along with two firearms. The eleven year-old youth was released without charge, as he is under the age of twelve.
Twenty-one year-old Darien TOTO, also known as Darien SHEEPSKIN, of Regina, is charged with armed Robbery Using a Restricted Firearm [344(1)(a) CC]. TOTO made his first court appearance on the charge in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2019.
