The Regina Police Service has charged a 27 year-old male after a stolen auto incident early this morning.
On Thursday, November 14, 2019 at around 4:30 a.m., patrol officers were in the area of 6th Avenue and McTavish Street when they spotted a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. The driver of the vehicle continued to drive erratically before abandoning the vehicle in the 900 block of McTavish Street. Police confirmed the vehicle was stolen.
The male suspect was tracked by an RPS K9 Unit, located nearby, and was arrested. He was found to be in possession of the keys to the stolen vehicle and a quantity of drugs.
During the course of the arrest, the suspect was bitten by the dog. He was provided treatment on scene by EMS and taken to hospital for further treatment of a minor injury.
Twenty seven year-old Andrew Johnathon PELLETIER is now facing charges of:
- Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5000 (Vehicle) [CC 355 (A)]; and
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance [CDSA (4)(1)].
PELLETIER will make his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on January 8th, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
