A 17 year-old male youth is facing charges after an incident last night in Regina.
On November 4, 2019, just after 11:00 p.m. Regina Police were called to a residence on Petersmeyer Street for a report of a break and enter in progress. The victim alleged that three suspects were banging on the windows and doors and attempting to gain entry into the residence. One of the suspects was alleged to have been in possession of what appeared to be a firearm. When officers arrived, the suspects had left the home, but a suspect vehicle was located nearby. Three youths were located inside the vehicle; upon further investigation one of the suspects, a 17 year-old male, was charged and the other two suspects released.
The 17 year-old male, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (pellet gun) [CC 88];
- Uttering Threats [CC 264.1(1)(a)]; and
- Mischief Under $5000 [CC 430(4)].
The youth is scheduled to make his first appearance on the charges in Youth Court at 9:30 a.m. on December 12, 2019.
