On December 11, 2019, at approximately 2:55 p.m., police were dispatched to the alley of the 600 block of Athol Street for the report of a suspicious vehicle in the alley. Information received was that an occupant in the vehicle had a firearm.
Police arrived on scene and observed a vehicle matching the description driving southbound in the 700 block of Athol Street. The vehicle eventually came to a stop on 5th Avenue. A high risk traffic stop was initiated. As police approached on foot, the vehicle went into reverse, taking off westbound on 5th Avenue, where it then collided with another vehicle in the intersection of 5th Avenue and Pasqua Street.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 44 year-old female, did not appear to have sustained injury and was subsequently cleared by EMS.
The four male occupants of the first vehicle were taken into custody. A firearm was not recovered. Investigators are conducting interviews and continuing to gather information about the collision. It is not known at this time, what charges, if any, may result.
