The Regina Police Service is advising the public of the discharge of a police firearm on Monday December 9, 2019.
At approximately 8:50 p.m., on Monday December 9, 2019, police were dispatched to the 500 block of Victoria Avenue for a report of 9-1-1 call from a female caller asking for help. When officers arrived on scene an aggressive dog ran towards the two members as they approached the back of the house. Police attempted to get back into a position of safety, but the dog charged at one of the officers. The member fired three rounds at the dog. The dog retreated and its owner came outside and restrained the animal. The dog was not injured.
The dog was secured in a room inside the house and police were able to continue their investigation without further incident.
