On Sunday, January 5, 2020, at approximately 7:30 p.m., police were dispatched to a residence on the 2100 block of Osler Street for the report of a weapons offence. Police arrived and observed a 44 year-old male with injuries consistent with pepper spray and stabbing. Police learned that the male was walking through the parking lot of a retail business on the 2100 block of Broad Street when he saw two males exit the store. One male then sprayed him with pepper spray and the other assaulted him with a bladed weapon.
The 44 year-old victim was transported to hospital by EMS for treatment of injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Investigation into this assault led to a 25 year-old male, who was arrested and charged.
Twenty-five year-old Jesse Allen VEEDER, of Regina, is charged with:
- Aggravated Assault [CC 268(1)]; and
- Fail to comply with probation order [CC 733.1(1)].
VEEDER made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court today, Monday, January 6, 2020, at 9:00 a.m.
