A 23 year-old Regina male is facing charges including Attempted Murder, as the result of investigation into incidents that occurred last October.
On October 10, 2019, at approximately 10:00 p.m., police were dispatched to a residence in east Regina for a weapons offence. When officers arrived, they located a 17 year-old male who had sustained an apparent gunshot wound to his leg. The male was treated at the scene by EMS and transported to hospital. At the time, police also located a female and two young children in the residence as well as four teenagers. They were all taken from the residence until the scene was processed by Forensic Identification investigators. As a result of the investigation, police were able to gather evidence leading to the identity of the alleged shooter, who was arrested on February 5, 2020. The same suspect was also charged in connection with an alleged forcible confinement and assault which occurred sometime between October 10-12, 2019, involving a 27 year-old male victim.
Twenty-three year-old Michael Tibor MEZAROS, of Regina, is charged with:
- Attempted Murder [239 CC];
- Forcible Confinement [279(2) CC]; and
- Assault [266 CC].
MEZAROS made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on February 6, 2020.
