A 25 year-old Regina male, who is already facing charges in two other homicide cases, has been charged in connection with a third case. This is the 9th homicide in Regina in 2019. The victim is 23 year-old Keenan Scott TOTO, of Regina.
In this incident, police were dispatched at about 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2019, to the 1200 block of Queen Street. The initial reports indicated there was a male lying in the street at that location. When police and EMS attended, they found a male, who confirmed deceased by EMS. The patrol members onscene requested additional resources, including the Coroner, and Major Crimes and Forensic Identification members. This investigation was soon declared a homicide case, becoming the 9th homicide in Regina in 2019. The investigation into this case, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, and supported by numerous other units in the Police Service, resulted in the arrest, on February 12, 2020, of a 25 year-old Regina male who was subsequently charged with First-Degree Murder and a weapons-related offence.
Twenty-five year-old Dillon Ricky WHITEHAWK, of Regina, is charged with:
- First Degree Murder [235(1) CC]; and
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition, contrary to prohibition [117.01(1) CC].
WHITEHAWK made his first court appearance on this charge in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2020.
