A 43 year-old male, who was previously the subject of a March 20th Public Disclosure notice and then a March 28th Criminal Code Warrant, has been arrested.
It is alleged Jason Paul THORNE left the residence where he was required to stay under the conditions of his statutory release. It is alleged THORNE cut off an electronic monitoring device and left his residence just before midnight on Friday, March 27, 2020. The Regina Police Service initiated a Criminal Code investigation which resulted in a warrant being issued for THORNE being Unlawfully at Large.
On Sunday March 29, 2020 at approximately 3:25 p.m., police located Jason Paul THORNE and a 41 year-old male in the 1900 block of Montreal Street. THORNE and Waylan CUSTER were both apprehended without incident for breaching their statutory release.
On March 28, 2020 Waylan CUSTER became a subject of a police investigation when he left the residence where he is required to stay under the conditions of his statutory release. He failed to return to his residence just before midnight on Friday March 27, 2020.
Jason Paul THORNE is facing the following charges:
– Unlawfully at Large – Sec 145(b) CC, and
– Possession of a Scheduled Substance (methamphetamine) – Sec 4(1) CDSA.
Waylan CUSTER is charged with being Unlawfully at Large – Sec 145(b) CC.
Both Jason Paul THORNE and Waylan CUSTER will make their first court appearance on their above noted charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday March 30, 2020.
