Continued investigation into the June 10th death of an eighteen-month old child in Regina, has led to the confirmation that the death is deemed a homicide. This is the eighth homicide in Regina in 2020.
On Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at approximately 10:15 a.m., police were dispatched to the 3200 block of Arens Road East to assist emergency responders. Police arrived and assisted EMS on scene with the injured child, who was transported to hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, conducted an investigation into the death of an eighteen month-old male as a result of the incident. Police investigators worked in conjunction with the Coroners Service to determine the circumstances of the death. A criminal investigation, conducted by the Regina Police Service Major Crimes Unit, now confirms the eighteen month-old child’s death is deemed a homicide.
The investigation is ongoing.
