On August 18, 2020, the Regina Drug Unit (RDU), with the assistance of the Crime Reduction Team (CRT), completed a cocaine trafficking investigation and enforcement action in the City of Regina. CDSA search warrants were executed in the 2800 block of Parliament Avenue, 4500 Block of Harbour Landing Drive, and the 4200 block of East Green Olive Way, resulting in the seizure of approximately 1000 grams of cocaine, $6,700 currency, brass knuckles, multiple cell phones, digital scales, a cocaine press, packaging equipment/material, and a truck.
As a result of the investigation, 30 year-old Puneet GOYAL and 24 year-old Mandip SINGH, both of Regina, Saskatchewan, were jointly charged with the following drug trafficking and Criminal Code offences:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine) [5(2) CDSA]; and
- Proceeds of crime under $5000 [355(b) CC].
In addition, GOYAL was charged with the following offence:
- Possession of a prohibited weapon. [ 88 CC].
Both accused will make their first court appearance on October 6, 2020.
