A 27 year-old Regina male is facing multiple charges after a police investigation into a weapons offence.
On Sunday, May 16, 2021 at approximately 7:20 p.m., police were attending to a call for service on the 1000 block of Garnet Street. While attending to a residence, responding officers observed a male exit a neighbouring home carrying a firearm. The male then entered a yard on the street and police followed. As police were pursuing the male, a gunshot was heard and the male was seen running. Additional police resources were called to the area and a perimeter was set up. After a short foot pursuit, the suspect male was taken into custody without incident. Police also located and recovered a firearm in a nearby yard.
Meanwhile, additional police officers surrounded the residence the male with the firearm was first seen exiting. Multiple individuals complied with police commands to exit the residence. Two – a male and a female – were taken into custody and later released. The original call for service in the 1000 block of Garnet Street is not believed to be related to the weapons offence.
As a result of police investigation, 27 year-old Brian Glen THORN-BITTERNOSE, of Regina, was charged with:
