The Regina Police Service reports that there does not appear to be a criminal aspect to a fatal house fire that occurred on Friday, September 3, 2010 at a house at 341 North Toronto Street. However, the identity of the deceased person found in the house is still a mystery.
While the exact cause of the fire has not been determined, investigation by Regina Fire & Protective Services and the Regina Police Service indicates that the fire was not intentionally set. The body of a deceased female was discovered in the house and the ensuing investigation into her death has determined that there was no foul play involved. Police continue to assist the Office of the Chief Coroner in efforts to identify this person.
The deceased female is described as being about five feet tall, and weighing about 100 pounds. Her age is unknown. She may have been wearing a grey sweater as there were remnants of fabric at the scene. The deceased female has two upper teeth and four lower teeth; it’s hoped this fact may help in identifying her.
