The Regina Police Service has laid charges in connection with the death of a 16 year-old Regina male on Friday evening, December 3, 2010, in the area of the 1100 block of Montague Street.
At 9:39 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2010, police received a call requesting police and EMS to the 1100 block of Montague Street for an injured person. A 16 year-old male was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries; he was pronounced deceased in hospital a short time later. His name will not be released by police. The subsequent investigation into this matter led to charges against two male youths, 15 and 16 years old.
The youths cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The 15 year-old is charged with Second Degree Murder contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada, as well as Breach of Undertaking. The 16 year-old male is charged with Second Degree Murder [235(1) CC]. Both males are scheduled to appear in Youth Court in Regina at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 6, 2010. The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
