A 16 year-old male is facing a charge of Attempt Murder as well as two breach charges after investigation into an apparent stabbing that occurred yesterday morning, January 5, 2011, in a house in the 4200 block of 6th Avenue.
At approximately 7:58 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, the Regina Police Service received a call requesting help for an injured person. Police went to a house in the 4200 block of 6th Avenue and found a 42 year-old male in the house, the victim of an apparent stabbing. The injured male was taken by EMS to hospital for treatment. Police investigation led to the arrest, without incident, of a 16-year-old male, just after 11:30 a.m. on January 5, 2011, at a house in the 1300 block of Athol Street. The investigation led to charges against the 16 year-old male suspect.
The youth cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He is charged with Attempt Murder [239 CC]; Breach of Undertaking [145(3) CC]; and a Breach of court-ordered conditions [137 YCJA]. He will make his first court appearance on these charges in Youth court today, January 6, 2011, at 9:30 a.m.
