Although there are some aspects of the investigation pending, the preliminary findings of the investigation into the sudden death of a 60 year-old Regina woman, whose body was discovered on February 7, 2011, show no indication of foul play.
The investigation by the Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Coroner, began on Monday, February 7, 2011, after a deceased woman was found in the east alley of the 1800 block of Scarth Street at about 9:52 a.m. The Coroner’s Office ordered an autopsy, the preliminary results of which indicate that hypothermia was the cause of death. There is no indication of foul play. Further toxicological tests are pending.
The deceased woman has been identified as a 60 year-old resident of Regina and her next-of-kin have been notified of her death. As there is no known criminal aspect to this death, the woman’s name will not be released by police.
