The Regina Police Service investigation into the discovery of a deceased person in the 1000 block of King Street is now deemed a homicide investigation. This is the second homicide in Regina in 2011.
At approximately 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, police were called to a residence in the 1000 block of King Street. The caller had gone to check on a friend who had not been seen for a few days and discovered a male, believed to be deceased, in the residence. Police and EMS arrived and confirmed the person was deceased. Officers secured the scene and requested that the Coroner attend.
At this time, police know that the deceased is an adult male. Police will continue, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, to gather information that will clarify the circumstances of this person’s death. An autopsy is scheduled for this morning. There is no more information to be released at this time. The investigation is continuing.
