Robbery, Theft & Possession

Three males, two from Regina and one from Saskatoon, have been charged following investigation into a series of incidents of shoplifting, involving a stolen car.
On Sunday, May 6, 2012, at about 1:30 a.m.,police were dispatched to a hit and run in the alley of the 1400 block of McTavish Street. Investigation into this incident and an area search turned up a vehicle that matched the description of a suspect car in a number of recent incidents of shoplifting. The car, which was a stolen vehicle, was parked at the rear of a house in the 3400 block of Dewdney Avenue. Police located three males who were detained for Possession of Stolen Property. Further investigation led to several charges relating to a series of thefts from Regina businesses from April 20 – May 5, 2012 and a hit and run.
Thirty-one year-old Ryan HASTINGS, DOB: 1981-03-28, of Regina, is charged with Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000 [355(a) CC]; Theft under $5,000 [334(b) CC]; Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC]; Fail to Stop or Remain [252(1.1) CC]. HASTINGS is making his first court appearance on these charges this morning, Tuesday, May 8, 2012.
Forty-four year-old Glen Matthew MCNEIL, DOB 1968-02-08, of Saskatoon, is charged with Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000 [355(a) CC]; Obstruct Peace Officer [129(a) CC]; two charges of Theft Under $5,000 [334(b) CC]; Fail to Stop or Remain [252(1.1) CC]; seven charges of Shoplifting Under $5,000 [334(b) CC]; two charges of Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000 [355(b) CC] and Assault With a Weapon [267(a) CC]. MCNEIL is making his first court appearance on these charges this morning, Tuesday, May 8, 2012.
Twenty-six year-old Kashif Jamaal THOMAS, DOB: 1986-03-16, of Regina, is charged with Obstruct Peace Officer [129(a) CC]; and two charges of Breach of Undertaking [145(3) CC]. THOMAS made his first court appearance on these charges at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2012.
