A 36 year-old male, who is also a seven-year member (constable) with the Regina Police Service, is facing charges of Assault, Mischief and Uttering Threats, following an incident in the early-morning hours of Sunday, December 2, 2012. This notice is being issued in accordance with past practice of the Regina Police Service, consistent with the Service’s commitment to public accountability.
At approximately, 12:30 a.m., on Sunday, December 2, 2012, police attended to a residence in the 3200 block of Victoria Avenue, for a report of an alleged domestic assault, mischief and threatening. The victim, a 34 year-old female was not physically harmed in the incident, but police investigation led to the arrest of a 36 year-old male, known to the victim. In the course of the arrest, it is alleged the suspect made further threats to the police members present. Investigation into these matters led to charges against the 36 year-old male, who was off-duty at the time of the incident.
Thirty-six year-old Darcy Allan DREAVER, DOB: 1976-10-08, of Pilot Butte, is charged with Assault [266 CC], Mischief Under $5,000 [430(1) CC] and three charges of Uttering Threats [264.1(1) CC]. DREAVER will make his first court appearance on the criminal charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2012. In terms of the administrative process, DREAVER has been placed on paid administrative leave in accordance with the provisions of The Police Act, 1990, with a hearing to be held within 30 days.
