A 20 year-old Regina male and three male youths: ages 15, 16, and 17; were in court this morning charged in connection with the weekend robbery of a convenience store.
On Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 11:03 p.m., police received a call from a customer inside a store in the 3500 block Dewdney Avenue that the store was being robbed. Plainclothes officers and Canine members were near the location and responded quickly when the call was received. Officers observed fleeing suspects who were tracked by canine to a nearby residence. Four males were arrested without incident. Stolen property from the business was recovered in the residence.
Twenty year-old Rodney Kyle BRASS; DOB: 1992-03-20, of Regina is charged with Robbery With an Offensive Weapon [343(d) CC]; Wearing a Disguise with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence [351(2) CC]; Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000 [355(b) CC]; and Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC]. BRASS made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 18, 2013.
The youths charged in this case cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The 15 year-old is charged with Robbery With an Offensive Weapon [343(d) CC]; Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000 [355(b) CC]; and Breach of Undertaking [145(3) CC]. The 16 year-old is facing charges of Robbery With an Offensive Weapon [343(d) CC]; and Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000 [355(b) CC]. The 17 year-old is charged with Wearing a Disguise with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence [351(2) CC]; Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000 [355(b) CC]; and Breach of Conditions [137 YCJA]. The youths appeared in Youth Court at 9:30 this morning, Monday, March 18, 2013.
