A 15 year-old female has been charged in connection with a stabbing incident yesterday that resulted in the hospitalization of a 25 year-old female. The injuries to the victim were described as non-life-threatening.
Police were called to a house in the 700 block of Cameron Street on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at about 7:55 a.m. for a report of a stabbing. EMS was also dispatched and transported an adult female to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Preliminary investigation indicated that there had been a party at that location. Initially, six people were taken into custody from the house and, upon further investigation, all but two were released. One 16 year-old male was charged with a breach of a court ordered condition not to consume alcohol. A 15 year-old female was charged in connection with the stabbing.
Neither accused can be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The 16 year-old male was released on a recognizance to appear in Youth Court on July 15, 2014. The 15 year-old female faces a charge of Aggravated Assault [268(1) CC] and a Breach of Undertaking [145(3) CC]. The female accused is in Youth Court at 9:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, June 4, 2014.
