A 19 year-old male, most recently from Mississauga, Ontario, faces Robbery and Drug Trafficking charges following investigation into a May 20th incident in Regina.
On Tuesday, May 20, 2014, just before 10:30 p.m., police were dispatched to a residence in the 4600 block of Tutor Court for a report of a robbery at gunpoint. The preliminary investigation showed that the victims, a 26 year-old male and 21 year-old female were robbed of a quantity of cash and possessions including a video game system and games. The male victim was struck in the back of the head, but declined EMS. There were no other physical injuries in the robbery. It’s alleged the male suspect was known to the victims. Continued investigation into this event led to identification of a viable suspect and his arrest, on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, in a traffic stop. A quantity of cocaine was seized from the suspect incident to the arrest.
Nineteen year-old Cory Omar CHUNG, DOB: 1995-07-18, whose last known address is Mississauga, Ontario; has been charged with Armed Robbery [343(d) CC] and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine) [5(2) CDSA]. CHUNG made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2014. This investigation is ongoing.
