The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, is conducting a death investigation after the discovery of a deceased infant on November 7, 2014.
On Friday, November 7, 2014, at approximately 3:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the back yard of a residence in the 700 block of Retallack Street in Regina for a report of a deceased infant. Police, EMS and Regina Fire and Protective Services attended and found the remains of a deceased male infant, who appeared to be newborn. Officers secured the area and requested the assistance of the Office of the Chief Coroner. This investigation has progressed to the point that police have identified the mother of the infant. Investigators were confident, from the early stages of this case, that there was no risk to public safety as a result of this incident.
The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, is continuing its investigation into the circumstances of this death.
