The Regina Police Service is currently investigating a house fire in the 1900 block of Winnipeg Street.
On Tuesday January 6, 2015, at approximately 01:50 a.m. police responded to a house fire. Upon arrival police located a witness who appeared to have assisted two residents from the house. Regina Fire Department members and EMS attended the scene and attempted to resuscitate the victims. The victims were transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased. A male child and an adult female were the victims.
The Regina Fire Department was able to get the fire under control and no other residents in the neighborhood were injured. There was some damage to a neighboring house.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Regina Police Service Major Crime Section will be investigating as the incident involved fatalities.
