A 29 year-old Regina male is facing charges in connection with a recent theft of electronic devices from a mall kiosk in Regina.
On Wednesday, June 17, 2015, police were dispatched to a reported theft at a kiosk in an east Regina shopping mall. The business owner was able to provide police with a video showing an unknown male suspect inside the kiosk, prior to the start of the business day. Investigation into this incident led to identification of a viable suspect. Then, on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at approximately 9:00 a.m. police were dispatched to a grocery store on the 2200 block of Victoria Avenue for the report of shoplifting. The preliminary information indicated a male attempted to shoplift merchandise and then exited the store and fled on foot. The complainant was able to provide a description of the suspect’s clothing and direction of travel. A 29 year-old male suspect was taken into custody without incident. Further investigation linked the suspect in custody to the June 17th theft from the kiosk and the male was subsequently charged. (It was determined there would not be charges in connection to the attempt theft.)
Twenty-nine year-old Devon James MCABE, DOB: 1985-10-18, of Regina, is charged with Break, Enter and Commit Theft [348(1)(b) CC]. MCCABE makes his first appearance in Provincial Court on these charges at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015. Investigation is ongoing.
