The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, is continuing a death investigation after the discovery of a deceased person yesterday (Friday, September 11, 2015). The Identity of the deceased person has not yet been confirmed, but investigators have confirmed that the deceased person is an adult female.
Police located the deceased person, just before 3:00 p.m., on Friday, September 11, 2015, in a residence in the 900 block of Athol Street. The Coroner, RPS Major Crimes Unit, Forensic Identification Unit, and uniformed officers attended, each carrying out a role in the investigation. The Coroner has ordered an autopsy, which will be performed early next week. Police will hold the scene until more is known.
The Regina Police Service will continue this investigation, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, to confirm the identity of this person and to determine the circumstances of her death.
