The Regina Police Service has received public inquiries regarding phone calls from people who may be identifying themselves as the “Regina Police Association”, who are requesting donations from Saskatchewan residents on behalf of the Canadian Police Association. The callers request credit card information to collect donations for the Canadian Police Association’s “Cops for Kids” Safety program.
The Canadian Police Association is raising funds for the “Cops for Kids” Safety Program, using a third party marketing service to contact potential donors. In these instances, the caller is a third party acting on behalf of the Canadian Police Association, and not the Regina Police Association, Regina Police Service, nor RCMP and should not be identifying as such.
The Regina Police Service would like to advise the public that you may donate to any charitable cause you wish, but if the call seems suspicious, please do not share your credit card number.
