Break & EnterFirearms and Weapons related

On December 18, 2015, just after midnight, police were dispatched to the area of McKinley Avenue and King Street for a weapons offence and attempted break and enter.

Officers received a report of suspects attempting to enter a home on the 5300 block of 2nd Avenue North. The suspects left in a vehicle when the occupant of the home proclaimed his presence. During the investigation officers located a vehicle with four people who matched a description, and performed a high-risk traffic stop. Officers located and arrested a sixteen-year old female, an eighteen-year-old female and a twenty-six-year-old male, all of Regina.  One of the occupants of the vehicle fled the scene, but canine was unable to find them.  Officers retrieved what appeared to be a firearm from inside the vehicle, but upon closer inspection, found it to be an imitation firearm.  The following charges have been laid:

A sixteen-year-old female, who cannot be named in accordance with provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with:

  • Attempt Break and Enter House [Sec 348(1)(A), CC],
  • Use of Imitation Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence [Sec 85(2)(A), CC]

The youth will make her first appearance in Provincial Youth Court this afternoon, December 18th, 2015, at 2:00 p.m.

Eighteen year-old Karlie, Nicole Elaine LUCAS (DOB: 1997/03/28), of Regina, is charged with:

  • Attempt Break and Enter House [Sec 348(1)(A), CC],
  • Use of Imitation Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence [Sec 85(2)(A), CC]

LUCAS will make her first appearance in Provincial Court this afternoon, December 18th, 2015, at 2:00 p.m.

Twenty-six year-old Christopher Joseph LARWOOD (DOB: 1989/08/09) of Regina, is charged with:

  • Attempt Break and Enter House [Sec 348(1)(A), CC],
  • Use of Imitation Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence [Sec 85(2)(A), CC],
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order [Sec 733.1(1), CC]

LARWOOD will make his first appearance in Provincial Court this afternoon, December 18th, 2015, at 2:00 p.m.

The Regina Police Service would like to remind the public that displaying any type of imitation firearm in public will prompt an immediate response from police. Until police know what the weapon is, it will be treated as if it’s a real firearm. And even if the “gun” turns out to be an imitation, serious criminal charges may result. Fake gun = real consequences. The public is encouraged to report suspicious activity to police by calling 306-777-6500. In an emergency, call 9-1-1.
