Two males: and adult and a youth, are facing charges after an incident on Thursday, March 3, 2016, that also involved injury to a Regina Police Service member.
At 3:36 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016, members of the Street Crimes and Investigative Response Units (both plainclothes units) located and identified an individual who was the subject of a warrant for arrest, charged with Breach of Recognizance. As officers attempted to effect the arrest of the accused (an adult male), the male fled on foot and then jumped into the passenger seat of a vehicle, which fled. A Regina Police Service member was struck on the leg by the open door of the moving vehicle. The officer was taken to hospital for treatment.
The suspect vehicle was located immediately afterward, abandoned, at the Regent Park Shopping Centre (3800 block Sherwood Dr). The adult accused was located in a business and the driver of the vehicle was located in another, nearby business. Both were arrested without further incident. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
