Regina Police Service investigators who arrested six male youths this week in a stolen truck say the teens helped themselves to other people’s property, most of which was left unlocked or unsecured. Two 16 year-old and four 15 year-olds, all of Regina, are facing a total of 62 charges after investigation into a recent string of property crimes in Regina.

On April 6, 2016, Regina Police Service investigators spotted a truck, believed to be a stolen vehicle occupied by six male youths. The truck had a number of bicycles in the rear and, when the youths left the truck and rode the bikes toward 2nd Avenue North, police were able to check the vehicle plate to confirm the truck was stolen. They located the six suspects and arrested them without incident. They seized several items including an iPad, Laptop and speaker system, which were later confirmed to have been stolen from various vehicles. The truck was confirmed to have been stolen in Moose Jaw on April 2nd and evaded police in Regina on April 5th, when officers tried to stop it. Police believe the suspects were involved in several thefts from auto, a break and enter, thefts of other vehicles and thefts of gasoline between March 30th and April 6th.

None of the accused can be identified by name, in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
