Four people: three males and a female, have been charged following an investigation into drug trafficking in our city. Two of these individuals: a 50 year-old male and 43 year-old female face a total of 34 charges.

On Wednesday, October 5, 2016, a Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant was executed on a residence in the 1000 block of 12th Avenue North. The warrant was executed by members of the Regina Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team, with the assistance of plainclothes and patrol members. Upon entry into the residence, officers were immediately confronted by an aggressive dog which charged the officers; this in turn forced one officer to discharge a single shot from a firearm at the dog. The dog was not hit and fled to the basement. Located inside the home were three males and a female as well as four other dogs. Animal Control was called and all five dogs were secured and taken from the house. A search of the residence was completed and a significant quantity and variety of drugs, weapons and Canadian currency was seized.
