Two Regina males, 30 years-old and 28 years-old, are facing weapons and drug-related charges as the result of arrests last night. One of the males also faces a charge of armed robbery in connection with an incident on October 26, 2016.
On Tuesday, November 8, 2016, Regina Police Service patrol members identified a male suspected of involvement in an October 26th armed robbery. The suspect and another male were in a vehicle spotted in the downtown area at approximately 11:22 p.m. Police were able to surround and stop the vehicle a short time later. Both occupants were taken into custody and a search of the vehicle found quantities of crystal methamphetamine, pills believed to contain morphine, a machete, and drug paraphernalia. The males were subsequently charged.
Thirty year-old Chad BARRE, DOB: 1986-09-30, of Regina, is charged with:
– Possession of a Scheduled Substance [Sec 4(1), CDSA];
– Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking [Sec 5(2), CDSA];
– Possession of a Weapon [Sec 88, CC]; and
– Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking Given by Officer in Charge [Sec 145(5.1), CC].
Twenty-eight year-old Leon Mervin MANHAS, DOB: 1988-09-16, of Regina, is charged with:
– Possession of a Scheduled Substance [Sec 4(1), CDSA];
– Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking [Sec 5(2), CDSA];
– Possession of a Weapon [Sec 88, CC];
– Armed Robbery [Sec 343(D), CC]; and
– Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking [Sec 145(3), CC].
Both BARRE and MANHAS will make their first court appearances on these charges in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon (Wednesday, November 9, 2016).
