A 24 year-old male is facing weapons and robbery charges after an incident in the early-morning hours of Sunday, December 4, 2016.
At approximately 2:28 a.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2016, police were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery at a business in the 400 block of Albert Street North. A lone male entered the business, armed with a firearm, and demanded cash and merchandise from the employee on duty. The suspect did not physically harm the staff. Police were able to obtain a suspect description as well as his direction of travel, on foot. A search of the area discovered a male matching the suspect description. A foot pursuit followed, with the suspect ignoring police commands to stop. At one point, the suspect pulled out what appeared to be a gun. Officers took the suspect into custody a short time later. He was in possession of what appeared to be a handgun; investigation determined that the weapon was a very realistic-looking CO2 pistol.
