The Regina Police Service is asking for help from the public in the investigation of a Purse-snatching which occurred Tuesday, January 3, 2017.
Police were dispatched to the 3400 block of 5th Avenue at about 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. A 22 year-old female reported that she’d been confronted nearby by another woman who’d robbed her of her purse and other possessions. The victim had been on 5th Avenue at Cameron and observed a woman coming from the direction of a nearby convenience store, who joined another female and walked west on 5th Avenue, in the direction of Elphinstone Street. The victim walked in the same direction and passed the pair. In the area of 5th and Athol Street, the victim said she was verbally harassed, then pushed by one of the women. The victim reported the suspect took her purse, a set of keys and a specialized set of earplugs used by the victim for her disability. The suspect is described as female, about 45-55 years old, Aboriginal, thin build, about 120 pounds, wearing a grey/black and purple jacket. The suspect is described as having decayed teeth. The victim ran away to a nearby business to call for help.
