A third person: a 21 year-old Regina male has been charged with second degree murder in connection with the disappearance of Ronald Matthew KAY, a Regina man who was reported as a missing person in November, 2013.
Two other Regina males are currently facing second degree murder charges in the same case.
On November 26, 2013, the Regina Police Service received a report that a male, Ronald Matthew KAY, was recently missing. Police searched for Ronald KAY, who was 32 at the time of his disappearance, but could not locate him. KAY was listed as one of Regina’s long-term missing persons on both the Regina Police Service website and the Missing Persons page of the Saskatchewan Association of Chiefs of Police. Recent, renewed investigation into this case uncovered information that KAY’s disappearance was due to homicide. Ronald KAY’s remains are not recovered, and remain missing. KAY’s family has been notified of this new development; the investigators and a Victim Services support person will continue to be in contact with them.
The third individual charged in this case is 21 year-old Lester Alvin FAVEL, DOB: 1995-05-05, of Regina. Lester FAVEL is charged with Murder, 2nd degree [235(1) CC]. He will make his first court appearance on this charge on Monday, January 9, 2017, at 2:00 p.m.
