Two 16 year-old males are charged after an assault that occurred yesterday night.
On February 2, 2017, at approximately 11:45 p.m., police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Angus Street for the report of an assault, where it is alleged that three males assaulted another male with a knife, and one of the males choked the victim. When police arrived at the location, there were no suspects or victim in the area. Police later located the victim, a 16 year-old male, whose injuries were described as non-life threatening. Further investigation led to the arrest of two 16 year-old Regina males. A third male suspect involved has not yet been located.
A 16 year-old male, who will not be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with assault with a weapon [276(A) CC].
A second 16 year-old male is charged with assault with a weapon [267(A) CC] and choke/strangle another person to overcome resistance [246(A) CC].
One youth makes his first appearance in Provincial Youth Court on these charges on February 6, 2017, while the other appears on March 15, 2017.
