One adult male and one male youth are in police custody and charges are anticipated after an Emergency Services call in Regina today.
This action was the result of ongoing investigation into a recent firearms offence. Investigators identified suspects and determined they were in a residence in the 1000 block of Argyle Street. As a result of the risk assessment on this call (potential of firearms), the request was made to have Emergency Services teams assist. At approximately 11:10 a.m., the following teams were authorized: Special Weapons and Tactics, Crisis Negotiators and Canine. With the support of Community Services Division (patrol), teams arrived at the residence at about noon. The Tactical Armoured Vehicle (TAV) was used in this call. At approximately 12:30 p.m., two males, (one adult and one youth) exited the house and were safely taken into police custody without further incident. Three dogs that were in the house were safely removed and handed over to the care of Animal Protection Services. Police are conducting a search of the house at this time.
At this early stage, it is not known yet what charges will result. Investigation into this matter is ongoing. Further details will be made public once they are available.
