The Regina Police Service is conducting an investigation into a motor vehicle collision that occurred this afternoon, downtown, in Victoria Park. One adult male was taken to hospital as a result of this incident.
Police were called to Victoria Park at about 1:53 p.m. today (Friday, September 29, 2017). Preliminary investigation indicates a grey, Chevy Silverado truck was east-bound on Victoria Avenue when the male driver lost control of the vehicle. The truck veered northbound, across the westbound lanes of traffic, struck a parked vehicle (Toyota Tacoma), hit a parking meter and then entered into the park. About ten feet inside the park, the vehicle struck a tree.
It appears the 34 year-old male driver experienced a medical emergency. EMS attended and transported the male to hospital. There were no injuries to other motorists or pedestrians.
The collision is under investigation; there are no other details available at this time.
