The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) has charged Jason Michael BROWN, age 40 of Regina, SK with the following child-pornography related offences:
Possession of Child Pornography – Sec.163.1(4) CC
Distributing Child Pornography – Sec. 163.1 (3) CC
The investigation of Mr. Brown’s activities began on February 15, 2017 after the Saskatchewan ICE Unit received a complaint of a Regina resident distributing child pornography through e-mail and a social media application. On June 21, a search warrant was executed at Mr. Brown’s residence where digital devices were seized. After a forensic examination of the seized devices charges were laid against Mr. Brown and he was arrested on September 13.
Jason Brown has been released from custody on numerous conditions and is scheduled to appear in Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Regina at 9:30 am on Tuesday, October 24, 2017.
The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
