On Wednesday, September 13, 2017, the Regina Police Service Drug Unit conducted drug and public safety enforcement in the city of Regina.
As a result of a drug investigation, a warrant was obtained authorizing the search of an apartment residence on Cambridge Avenue. During the search, two adults were taken into custody without incident. Police seized a large quantity of cannabis marihuana as well as smaller quantities of LSD, Oxytocin, Xanax and Ritalin. Two firearms (a handgun and a shotgun) were seized as well as a large amount of Canadian currency. Three vehicles were initially seized as part of the investigation. Two are believed to be proceeds of crime; one has been returned.
Twenty-two year-old Ransom BAILEY, DOB: 1995-01-29, and 21 year-old Amanda Elizabeth Ivy STAPLETON, DOB: 1996-06-03, both of Regina, are jointly charged for several offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Criminal Code of Canada.
Both BAILEY and STAPLETON made their first court appearances on the charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017.
