On October 29th, 2017, at approximately 3:38 am, police were dispatched to the 5000 block of 4th Avenue for the report of a male passed out in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with the lights on. Police attended to the location and located the 24 year-old male in a vehicle. The vehicle had been involved in two instances of evading the police, occurring on October 25th and 27th, 2017, and the male was detained in relation to these evades. The male was also arrested for an assault on a 20 year-old female that occurred on Saturday, October 28, 2017. A search of the vehicle revealed a knife and brass knuckles.
Twenty-four year-old Payton Shane DUKE (DOB: 1993/08/06), of Regina, is charged with:
- Assault [CC 266];
- 2 x Fail to comply [CC 145(3)];
- 2 x Flight while pursued by peace officer [CC 249.1(1)]; and
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon [CC 91(2)].
DUKE made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court today, October 30, 2017, at 9:30 am.
