The Regina Police Service is continuing its investigation of an incident over the weekend that resulted in the hospitalization of one 25 year-old male and the arrest of another.
On Sunday, October 15, 2017, at about 11:30 a.m., police were dispatched to a house in the 1100 block of Queen Street for an unconscious male, who was no longer breathing. Police arrived and located the victim, a 25 year-old Regina man, at the property. EMS arrived to provide medical assistance as the victim was taken to hospital. Investigation into this event led to the arrest of a 25 year-old male who was subsequently charged with aggravated assault. The twenty-five year-old victim remains in hospital; his condition is described as serious.
Twenty-five year-old Darwin SHEPPARD, DOB: 1992-07-28, of Regina, is charged with Aggravated Assault, contrary to section 268(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada. SHEPPARD made his first court appearance on this charge in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017.
