A 35-year-old male has been charged in connection with the discharge of a firearm that occurred on September 30, 2017, in a Regina business.
On Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 5:12 a.m., police were called to the 300 block of Victoria Avenue East for a report that a gun had been discharged at a business in the area. Police attended and discovered that several shots had been fired into the business. No one was injured in this incident and police have identified, arrested and charged the person believed to be responsible for this incident. A warrant was executed for the suspect’s residence and evidence was seized, which supports the criminal charges. At this time, there have been no firearms or ammunition recovered in this investigation; however, the matter is not yet concluded.
Thirty-five-year-old Tyler Rudy VALENTINO (DOB: 1981-11-15) if Regina, is charged with:
- Assault [Sec 266, CC];
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [Sec 117.01(1), CC];
- Two charges of Fail to Comply with Recognizance [Sec 145(3), CC];
- Discharge a Restricted Firearm or a Prohibited Firearm into or at a Place in a Reckless Manner [Sec 244.2(1)(A), CC];
VALENTINO made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court this morning at 9:30 a.m. (Friday, October 6, 2017)
