At approximately 2:02 pm on December 24, 2017, Patrol and Traffic Safety Unit members of the Regina Police Service were dispatched to the area of Albert Street and 5th Avenue to the report of a motor vehicle collision
involving several vehicles.
Because witnesses to the collision were reporting injuries, EMS was also dispatched to the scene. Once on scene, EMS attended to a male who was in apparent cardiac arrest. The male was taken to hospital via ambulance where he continues to receive medical care, with undisclosed injuries.
Subsequent investigation by Patrol and Traffic Safety Unit members revealed that a northbound truck lost control, striking two other vehicles before veering into a traffic light standard, then continuing westbound. The truck continued into the parking lot of a business in the 1000blk of Albert Street, striking another vehicle. The investigation also revealed that the collision was not the result of any criminal action.
The Regina Police Service thanks the public for their patience during the traffic disruption on Albert Street.
